Django in Paris

So I'm trying to listen through all the CDs I have to try and cull some of them, and I have no idea where I bought a compilation of Django and the Hot Club Quintet's recordings from 1947. Quite nice with a glass of 2009 Texier M“con Bussières très très très (Eric, enough?) vieilles vignes. Who knew I'd be drinking Chardonnay and listening to French jazz on Sunday evening? Next thing you know, I'll be reading Diderot.

ETA: Why does a-circonflexe not show properly?

That's fecking daft just for an accent.

Good Lord, the National People's Congress is over. Get back to work, Politburo.

The way the dismal (can anyone think of one that didn't fit this description?) French election campaign is rolling out these days thanks to la Le Pen and Sarko, a present-day Django wouldn't be considered to produce "French" jazz: he was (a) Belgian, and more importantly (b) Romani (gypsy, hence his eponymous nickname).

Ligature. (Ah, a breath of fresh pedantry!)

Thank you, Jeff. I couldn't recall the correct term so used conjunction as the closest substitute at hand (or neuron).
