I see from some interwebz research a few interesting looking wine bars in CPH, but i am having a hard time figuring out which might be more pleasant for the disorderly palate. Any 1st hand suggestions or advice? I'll be there for just 5 nights (including a Sunday) middle of next month....

Terroiristen is a small and great place. But it is situated slightly outside of the center and opening hours is wednesday-saturday. Website in danish: www.terroiristen.dk . Adress: Jægersborggade 52.

R vinbar: Very hip place in the centre. Crowdy, but interesting wines can be found. English website: http://www.r-vinbar.dk/english.html . Adress: Gammel mønt 14. Open tuesday-saturday.

Ved stranden: A new winebar in the centre. Looks very good, but I have not visited this yet. Website in danish: http://www.vedstranden10.dk/pages/vinbar/. Adress: Ved stranden 10.

Malbeck: Argentinian wine only. But very interesting. Lots of small-scaled producers. Website in danish: http://www.malbeck.dk/malbeck-vinbar.aspx. Adress: Istedgade 61 (a bit rough neighbourhood, but nothing to worry about).

Enomania: Restaurant with a small but very nice wine-list. The food is great and cheap. Reservations needed. Always fully booked. Website: http://www.enomania.dk/. Adress: Vesterbrogade 187. (I see it is closed from July 14th to Aug.6th).

Casa d'Antino: Italian restaurant with a great wine list of italian wine, lots of older bottles on the list. Reservation would be wise. http://www.casadantino.dk/ . Adress: Dronningens tværgade 43.

Degas: A new restaurant. French style, decent wine-list. Good food that is not too expensive. They also serve lunch and breakfast. And makes macarons and cakes. A great place to just stop by whenever you pass. Website: http://www.brasseriedegas.dk/ . Adress: Trommesalen 5.

Have a good trip. When will you be there?

Thanks, Arnt. We'll be there in the middle of June (14-19th).

Any views on Tire Bouchon or Falernum?

Casa d'Antino's list is really great looking; does the food come up to a similar standard? i see it is not open on Sundays, but is open on Mondays, which many places seem not to be.

One of the best places to eat and drink in Copenhagen these days is: http://manfreds.dk/

You can tjeck their twitter profile ( a link is provided at the bottom of the frontpage)

The owners are the same who runs the restaurant, RELÆ - just on the other side of the street. ( a "cheap" single star introduction to the "Nordic Cuisine")

Greetings from Copenhagen.

Peder

June is a fine time to go there. Its a little bit before most tourists come.

Tire Bouchon

Never heard of it before. Looks nice. Close to the center.

Never been here either. But I have been at Bibendum, which has the same owners and same wine-list. You can find some fine wine, but Bibendum used to be very crowdy and the wine used to be served too hot. But I have not been there in some years, so perhaps they control things better.

Casa d'Antino's list is really great looking; does the food come up to a similar standard? i see it is not open on Sundays, but is open on Mondays, which many places seem not to be.

You would normally go here because of the wine-list. Food is more good than great and sometimes the food has been a little up and down. But I was there in April and they had made great changes. The food was better than ever. Yes it is open on mondays, when many are closed. Brasserie Degas is open all days.

Thank you Peder and Arnt. Luckily I had already spotted Manfreds and Relae, and have reservations at both. Amazing list of folks you have coming. I hope they leave some samples that somebody will still be pouring by the time I get there. Geist is open on Monday so i think that is where we'll go and sit at the bar and watch the chefs.

Just a brief report back.

Ved Stranden is great; The owner, Christian, is a terrific host; he has insisted that there be no wine list so he or his servers can get into a conversation with guests about what they like and don't like, which then gives them a chance to expand horizons. Pretty quickly, if he senses a kindred spirit, you can visit the cellar and see most the inventory. Great selections: Prevost, Ganevat, Overnoy, Veyder-Malberg, Pacalet; Labet and Dom des Caverodes. One visit, Christian surprised us the '99 Overnoy chard. Amazing wine.

Manfreds was great; excellent food; amazing wine list and awesome people. Had my first taste of Robinot's Pinot d'Aunis there. (red and still; incredible penetration, spice and snap. Just delicious.)
