. . . we leave the mountains here in NC.
A drive through the area convinces me that, in the absence of humans for a month or so, nature would take over. Everywhere is heavy with green and growth. Beautiful and, somehow, reassuring.
Cottage pie for dinner and a 2009 Tissot, Arbois VV; just plain yummy, even if the wine starts out a bit grippy, the food keeps it showing well.
ETA Sonoma; June 13. But I will miss it here.
The high country is all about depth.
