TN: Marcel Lapierre, Morgon, 2007

Singing. Nicely red-fruited nose of strawberry and watermelon, with a nice talc finish. Very nice, understated, and probably drinking best right now. A-

MMVII is beautiful now. Still plenty of fruit and all this mouth-watering acidity and granity (prob not an actual adjective) stuff going on. More savory than frooty. Seems like plenty of life ahead of it.

Hm. I still have vestigial 2007 Foillard 3.14. Would be fun to bring it together with Marcel for a play date.
That '07 3.14 was a stunner from magnum last year.

I opened the '07 "S" side by side with '07 Foillard Py last week and while I continue to find the '07 Foillard's in a great place - all of them - love the 3.14...I'm not so sure about Lapierre - the fruit was drying and fading..it was drinkable and just fine, but I would drink them up...the Foillards have a ways to go.

...and my cellar is at 50 degrees, so I would have expected a slower progression .
