From the Rice jeebus, an opened bottle lost in the fridge for 40 days: 1996 Pierre-Bise Coteaux du Layon Beaulieu Les Rouannieres has not budged, has not oxidized and has not gained nor lost a thing. Amazing. Pure, sweet chenin blanc that is maybe showing a little wood now that it has had time to breath, but otherwise just as it was over a month ago. There are a few milliliters left and I'm inclined to leave them for another month as the wine is just too much to handle. A little goes a long way.

Thanks Don! Will any remaining bottles to your grandchildren.
 
Kay I have a bunch of 97s (various different CdLs) that I stuck in my locker many years ago...any thoughts on how they are doing?
 
I was always partial to the l'Anclaie but didn't put any away. If this '96 is any indication you probably want to open them soon . . . and leave them to breath for a few decades.

I would imagine we would have two events: a bottle opening (say late August) and a how are they doing now sometime toward the end of the year.
