Murphy-Goode Liar's Dice Zin w/ Tofu

Peter Creasey

Peter Creasey
Murphy-Goode Sonoma County Liar's Dice Zinfandel '08 -- Dark ruby red, abundant black fruits, nice spice, some oak, plush profile, big dark berries, hints of chocolate, desirable balance. [VG - E]

Served with Pock-marked Old Woman's Tofu w/Sausage, Sugar Snap Peas, Brown Rice, then Red Grapes Covered with Blue Cheese and Pecans...

And, naturally, the wine and dining experience was enhanced with the panoramic view overlooking the Galveston Gulf of Mexico surf...

Tofu and sausage! Nice.

In fairness, mapo dofu traditionally is a blend of tofu and ground pork.
Better than hamburger helper?

Yes. Szechuan peppercorns and Black bean paste make it much better. Not so sure about the M-G liar's dice zin with it, but, hey, maybe this sets a new bar for the meaning of "disorder"?

Maybe that is it; plus the chocolate.

Yule, We couldn't find our ground pork or ground beef; thus, substituted the ground up sausage. It was probably at least as good this way with the spiciness of the sausage complementing the tofu rendition.

To other folks, the Murphy-Goode Liar's Dice Zin worked very well with this dinner (including the dessert), at least to my way of thinking.
