Jeffords' article today about less oak in the world is cheerful, but also interestingly explicit about Cos d'Estournel backing off on the wood and doing MLF in steel, too.

Maybe Bordeaux will be drinkable again?
 
not every wine producer can get onto 20/20, and thus have to revert to other forms of publicity

Maybe, but as you well know, there's more to spoof than oak. It's fashionable to make unoaked wines to an extent now. Less so to make wines that don't have the consistency of 10-40 motor oil.
