LdH '91?

LdH is difficult to get here, so when the rare chance arose recently, I bought three of the red Tondonia Reserva '91. Today I noticed the cork of one had failed and had leaked a fair amount over the other bottles in my fridge (ended up low shoulder ullage). Though the colour was that of an old wine, the rest of it was still bright and structured like every other LdH I have had, so it seemed like it could still have aged forever. Is LdH immortal? When should I open my other two? Already now since this bottle is a delight? Drink and hold?
 
Depends which wine you have. It's been highly divergent for me on a couple of occasions. Oh, wait, that was the GR.

I haven't had the Reserva.

Never mind.
 
'91 Bosconia GR has also been quite variable in my experience. I didn't mind the variability so much before prices crept up.
 
I didn't mind the variability except for the astonishing, shining brilliance of my first bottles of the two '91 GR reds, that has not quite been replicated in subsequent tastes.

Can it be a coincidence that the genius bottles were sent to John Gilman as samples?

I remember that. Agreed, they've been my best showings, too, though having had both a few times each since, I think the Bosconia has shown better overall than the Tondonia in '91.

Yes but they are from 2001 vintage.
I went to the Spanish Table last week and the 2000 LdH rosado is all gone, alas.
 
They still have 2000 LdH rosado at several joints I've been to recently.

Feels like there are more bottles of the stuff than of '89 Olga Raffault, even....

I jest; I am enamored of the '00 pink and will regret it when it vanishes, as it certainly must, one day.

yes , bought R when it first came out and it's still wonderful, and, for my taste, will be even better in a decade.

Not really drinking, just storing a few.

They're not remotely ready, even the lighter versions.
 
The oldest I ever had was 97. I really like the 05 cubillo. Although , a few of my drinking partners (one of which sells the wine) doesn't share my enthusiasm.

I looked it up on their website, they made 25,000 bottles of the 2000 rosado.
