Super heebster

The lovely Mme L and I quietly slipped into the City this afternoon for an overnight - ended up watching fashionistas at Lincoln Square. The Moore there, btw, is outstanding. I felt out of place in my Patagonia shorts and Nikes.

On our way to Prune for dinner.

Sorry about the lack of jeeb notice to all - this was a sudden outing planned just this morning.

The big share here though is regarding Levi's Super Heebster. Really, really something. Worth the cab ride all the way down and back from uptown, and then some. The crunch of the roe was OTT.

It is a great city.

Yes, but don't forget the bugspray.
For the love of God, yes.
Is this the same god that put pits in my grapes, by any chance? The picture is not getting better, you know....

Same gent who put the West Nile in the mosquitoes.

May the Noodle forgive you.
Maybe Buecker can pray for me.

A very kind invite from Brad, which alas we cannot make. On our way to Grand Central right now. It was quick.

Prune was terrific. Reminded us a bit of Sitka and Spruce (actually just a shade less on) in a Pichet like setting.

Visited Prada Soho this am, which is great architecture, with echoes of the Seattle library. L bought a $100 tank top nearby. I had a coffee.

Any ideas for a quick good bite near the station?

Scott is right. It's the hall connecting 43rd and Lex with the rest of the terminal. Charcut and cheese from murray's, some good bread.

I gave up on the oyster bar long ago, but maybe someone has a more recent experience?

There is a wine shop, too, but I haven't been.

And it's not just mosquitos; I had some very strange red blotch-type marks after the last dinner there.

Note to all and sundry: do not do a Google image search for "spider bites."
