Matchbox is good, though i havent been to the rockville branch.
Great taiwanese food. Bobs noodle 66 and michaels noodle are both excellent. Sichuan Pavilion in rockville is supposed to be good as well. These places dont try to cater to american palates though.
But one of the few places to get stinky tofu in dc. The "loofah" veggie dish at bobs is great as well.

I can't say for sure - they have a few of the canonical dishes that are also on the Grand Sichuan menu (double cooked pork, beef with green pepper) but I haven't ordered those yet so I can't compare. There's an excellent dish there they call General Guan's Chicken based on cumin, garlic, ginger, leeks, and sichuan peppers.
Unfortunately I have yet to find any place that does anything like Guizhou chicken, nor any recipe that comes close!

Rockville - even "rockvilleish" - is not DC. As I suspect you found out when you went looking for some place good to dine.
