CWD: Pradeaux Bandol Rouge 1985

Fuck me this is good. Sweet dark fruit at first, then develops a more savoury, meaty aroma and finally a lovely pomegranate smell - very multifaceted. Quite tannic still, no hurry. Drink (if you're having lamb) and hold.

It's a little amazing.

I have had some '95s, '96s lately. They have been a fb-friendly experience of tannins.

was that the '95 we had together with Korean food? Wonderful.

I had a 90 in the last week. Enjoyable after a couple of hours in a decanter, but still amazingly furry. I think I'm too old to buy current vintages anymore and will have to depend on the kindness of strangers.

Friends of mine in Bandol compare Pradeaux to Gouges and Dunn -- do the wines ever become truly "ready to drink"?
