Three Underage Texiers

Here's my note from one I opened about a year ago for learning purposes. I'm with Mark on this for the rest of them: I just don't remember it giving much on its own at that age, seemed a bit raw.

Young, tight initially. With an hour decant, some ripe young fruit, nicely proportioned with refreshing acidity. A baby, but very good with red meat.

2010 Eric Texier St. Julien en St. Alban Vieille Serine 13.5%
Last night went the first of a handful of the Ten Saint Ju. Nasally quite reticent after a couple of hours in a decanter (the seldom-absent possibility of travel shock hovering on the event horizon). Bucally apollinean: quick upfront burst of zingy stardust acidity followed by finely-serrated and not over friendly Serine. Nary a trace of excess ripeness (a hint of which made the 09 recently more amicable). So, far from wanton, more akin to a wary adolescent, aerodynamically doe-eyed with a ski ramp nose, its surliness incapable of concealing an ossature likely to make old bones. A keeper, for its finders.
