Hello,
We made a very nice dinner at the TGJP in Paris last friday with Cole K., a hare and a vertical of Campagnès from Maxime Magnon (2006-2011) see
www.tgjp.com
Ask any questions on the forum and I will try to answer.
Best regards

A lovely dinner as always featuring wines by a producer of whom I was largely unaware. He apparently apprenticed with some of the legends (Allemand/Foillard) and found a spot far from his native Beaujolais and not so far from Spain.
Though imported in the US by Kermit Lynch (http://kermitlynch.com/our_wines/maxime-magnon/) he apparently uses little oak ("second hand Burgundian barrels") and the vertical of reds revealed wines that are increasingly more interesting as he understands the land he is working (all by himself).

Of particular note to me were the crispy, slightly saline whites and the sur voile vin jaune type wine he produced in 2005, though given market conditions one can only imagine the difficulty of selling something like a vin jaune from outside the Jura without the benefit of the cute little bottles.

And thanks again to pab, LBS, Marie-Sabine and the gang for a lovely evening with a slightly jet-lagged traveler whose bottle of perhaps more interesting porto needed a rest after three planes and the RER and metro.
