Jeff, I was actually expecting a tad better...

Camille Giroud Corton-Rognet Grand Cru '08 -- Medium red, elusive berry bouquet, fair berry fruits on palate, earth, more forward acidity than might be desirable, perhaps a bit rustic. [VG - E]

Thanks. The few times that I have had Corton I have liked it a lot but I have never heard great praise for Giroud.

I just noticed that the Ruchottes was 2006. I tasted that at the domaine and it was quite impressive there. How was it this time?

Jeff, Now you're talking...

Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Ruchottes-Chambertin '06 -- Dark Burgundy red, lovely abundant almost piercing bouquet immediately resonates, lots of good personality, cherries and dark fruits, just the right amount of typicity, moderate tannins that are well buffered, on and on, easily my red wine of the night.
