is just brilliant. Ready to drink. Garnet red color, as fragrant and elegant as you could wish. Perfect with chanterelles with butter fried sage over linguine. I guess you usually think about Burgundy with mushrooms, but this combo made me very happy. Many thanks to C and G over in Brokeland for bringing this over.

Brokeland is a reference to Michael Chabon's latest, Telegraph Avenue, which is an enjoyable read if you like Chabon. Great story, it made me break out my Curtis Mayfield record.

Nice. I'm heading down to Baker Lake today.
I've been through a couple each of the'01s and '04s and found them very lovely, pure, and elegant expressions of Chinon, not surprised at all with the success of the pairing. To a bottle though, all of mine have fallen off a cliff overnight. Like them very much them but drink em up that night IME.
 
Keith, did you read the Yiddish Policeman's Union?
I liked that one and Kavalier and Clay. Telegraph Avenue reminds me of K and C in a lot of ways.

Brian, this bottle evaporated in 2 hours, no chance of leftovers.
 
Haven't drunk my lone '94 yet nor any of my '04 stash. I tried the '04 at Arlequin and found it more structured than what you're describing. Sounds like I should grab one. I currently have an '03 in the drinking queue.
 
They're not available locally right now, although Cory has made threats that they'll offer older vintages again. Right now, you probably have to go to London or France (I see Guilhaumes's...)

2003 is drinking very well now, Larry. At the moment, I'd open it before 2001, 2002, or 2004.

Come to think of it, I think mine were 02 and 01. Not sure about the 04.
 
I tried the 2001 and 2002, and maybe the 2004.

Good wines, stylistically like Raffault, but better. Not in the Baudry league, but what is?
 
I want to hear about your the difference in terroirs between cramant and beaumont, and which one YOU consider to be superior, since you seem to have an opinion/understanding.
