This was one of the real cork bottles. I think I have one more. It was a joy and a delight on first opening but seemed a bit subdued later. Not sure if it shut down or it was simply a function of following the far more powerful 1997 Bourg.

Jumping onto the bandwagon of praise for the 97 Pepiere Buster. It's a wine I won't ever forget.

But the best thing about the evening was the body of work, the oeuvre of Joe, Denyse and Kevin during those years. Life affirming stuff in a glass. Wines, as Manuel said, that can turn a shitty day into a good one. Thanks, Joe.

The 1997 Pepiere Buster was one of my wines of the year. Amazing how much better it is than any of the 1997 Luneau Papin wines.

None at all. This was pretty well shut down early on (I snagged an early pour out of curiosity since I also have 2 bottles tucked away) so I was skeptical when Manuel came by and hour or two later exhorting me to try it again but he was right. A beauty.
