NYC

So should I keep my plans to come to NYC this weekend? or is the situation too distressed?

We would be staying in the Times Square area and arriving via LGA.

You will be fine, unless you need to take a lot of subways downtown or had big plans to visit great restaurants in Red Hook.

Unless you had your heart set on a meal at the Good Fork, spending time in Williamsburg, or visiting Coney or Staten islands, i think you'll be fine.

How is Jason? Doesn't he live in Red Hook? How is that restaurant we ate at with all the bugs?

That was the good fork. Robert posted (or perhaps Jeff in response to Robert's link about the winery) a link describing the devastation.

The bugs have been washed away, along with everything else.

You might also consider taking the bus from the airport to the Port Authority rather than a taxi or car service. With the gas shortage the car services I called either weren't running or were charging a lot more than usual

We took the ferry in and then took the bus from the PA. LaGuardia is fine.

My sense --without having had to go out and get gas myself -- is that the gas situation is getting better each day. By Friday or Saturday, i don't think you'll have to worry much about getting a cab at LGA, if you don't want to take the bus.

I caught a cab yesterday afternoon from LGA with no problem, but I didn't really check to see how many cabs were behind the one I got.
