Anybody know whats with the RWC selling JPB?

Er... what should they be doing with it, giving it away??

Importers usually have exclusivity within regions- LDM is pretty well established in CA. Maybe they've been selling it for a while, but I've missed it if so.

edit: I always thought of RWC as primarily an import outfit aside from their ex-cellar stuff but looking over their list I see plenty of producers that are represented elsewhere as well.

Sorry, Brian, I was just being a smartass. In answer to your question, is it possible that theirs are grey market? I seem to recall that RWC had some grey market stuff, but I could be mistaken.

'05 Clos de la Roilette2005 Coudert Clos de la Roilette, Fleurie, alc 13%...$16....nose is open and expressive....palate is more delicate and refined with a bit of perfume character...soft.....seems to be fairly good but maybe a bit closed

Opened a bottle last night, pretty good. Tonight, dreamy.

I'm speaking of the wines I cellar, Desvignes, Coudert.

I like Vissoux's wines, but more and more, I see the sense of this streamlined approach.

I don't know if streamlining in Beaujolais will work for me.
Just this year I've tried some wine that was new (for me) that I am pretty excited about.

Christian Ducroux's Regnie, Roland Pignard's Morgon, Chamonard, Michel Guignier's Moulin a Vent have all been tremendous. Glad to expand my horizons with these. Probably lots more but those are the ones I've tried recently.

My traditional problem is that I put my few '05s in the back of storage and now I don't feel like digging them out.

But if I were to streamline I'd have to include Descombes on my list.

I only have one bottle of Descombes left and have been waiting for others' reports. But I suspect you're right.

I hear that. Simplification is the current vogue of the moment a coté de chez Fitzsimmons. I'd probably have to add Thivin, though.

I sort of depends on how you like to cellar. I prefer depth to breadth.

I buy other Beaujolais, but usually just drink (Lapierre, Decombes, Breton, Foillard).

I should mention that Jean Paul expressed his doubts about the 05 l'Ancien. He seemed to think it was a bit of an oddball. He thought it was metallic and seemed to think it might end up in a weird place.

So I'm the guinea pig it looks like.

Almost forgot, my last 05 Brun Morgon, a couple of months ago, needed more time.
