I enjoy St. Benoit's wines, and the Grande Garde cuvee is my favorite. This is nice, a reticent, again pond water dilute nose, sappy old Grenache, in mouth decent backbone, a bit of off putting pond scum before moving into some nice mentholated piney sap, aged Grenache fruit. A bit of grip above the upper lip. Enough structure to enjoy the whole bottle quite fully.

Enjoyed with a big plate of crimini mushrooms sauteed in butter with garlic.
 
A bit of grip above the upper lip? I'd think that with spice, 'twas nice?

If one must salute that pond water dilute, you could pass the sappy to Pappy and divert pond scum from Mum.

These notes make it seem as if Saint Benoit is the patron saint of farm reservoirs.

The pondy thing was there but not off puttingly so.
