originally posted by Jeff Grossman: Pete, it seems like the '04 Bordeaux showed very well, but the Tournelle more advanced. Any idea why?

Jeff, Going in I was curious as to how the two 2004s would show. I was well impressed with both of them.

I felt that I was detecting some secondary nuances in the bouquet of the Tournelle but honestly this could just be the softness of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc (45% and 10% respectively, I believe) that I was noticing. Having said this, I would be willing to bet that these bottles were from the batch bottled under cork.

Regardless, there were no red flags intended in any of my comments on the two 2004s. They were excellent and well made for continued aging.
