Soldera vandalized

There's speculation on another board that it may be retaliation for his role in exposing the adulteration of Brunello.
 
The big question I have is whether the 'authorities' are going to even bother looking for the perps. Montalcino might as well be Palermo.
 
Amazing that the wine was insured against vandalism, even taking into account that Soldera was once an insurance executive. Wonder how common that kind of insurance is.

I know a few who insure their stocks. It helps bring down borrowing costs as the bank has recourse to the insurer. And I think it's general coverage, including theft etc.

Not that I am accusing Soldera of such a thing (especially as he probably has no incentive), but insurance fraud is sometimes a concern in these cases.
 
Drama continues: A disgruntled employee has been charged and convicted of the crime, but Soldera isn't persuaded. The Consorzio offered to give him wine to sell, which Soldera first politely rejected and, now, has spurned. Soldera has departed the Consorzio, never to return. click
