Yup, my crew and I did just that around 30 years ago. A few friends collected about 50 samples from Northern California. Each sample was about one joint's worth. 4-5 sativa tastings and one indica. Just one flight per meeting. Amazingly, we were actually able to do ranking for the sativa flights.

The indica flight? Err, not so much...

Points? That would've meant taking our shoes off.

Funny you should mention that. A guy down on the central coast actually requested Demeter Biodynamic certification for his plantation, but they weren't sure they could do it. Unofficially it definitely exists in California, but for obvious reasons I can't give further details.
