'02 Gahier Vin Jaune

Roasted nuts, caramel, flor, pears, a little scotch/peat and fully fantastic. Not at all unready for enjoyment as well. The finish is so long. Why am I thinking about Hidaldo La Panesa but with a lot more tang and a bit more fruit? Really, seriously outstanding. Just, you know, letting y'all know.

Gahier is making some of the most interesting oxidative stuff out there. Hopefully some of the back vintages find their way to the American market at some point.

Hmmm. I wonder who has an import company and might do that....? This was my first Jaune from Gahier and it certainly made an impression. Much more pleasurable young than, say Macle or Puffeney.
