I suppose the Camus conundrum remains - as a matter of fact, last Friday (the 4th) was the anniversary of his experiencing the absurdity of existential reality as a passenger in a Facel Vega, a beautiful automobile with fancy bespoke French coachwork and a 4.9 litre Chrysler V8 engine under the hood. Adding fuel to the "never trust your publisher" fire, there were questions as to whether or not this was all a subversive plot to convince bespoke French coachbuilders to move to American drivetrains. A subplot might be considered the move by the Enzo Rivolta to use similar Chrysler engines and Jaguar suspensions in his popular Iso Rivolta and Iso Grifo cars. However, whereas celebrities such as Pablo Picasso, Sterling Moss, Ringo Starr, and Tony Curtis were prominent Facel Vega drivers (as opposed to poor Mssr. Camus who was only a one-time passenger), about the only celebrity owner of an Iso Rivolta was Dan Blocker. But that's a Hoss of a different color.
