CBD: Ommegang Abbey Ale

Ommegang Abbey Ale, brewed in a Belgian Dubbel style but in Cooperstown NY, alc 8.5%. $5.00 for 18 oz: Cloudy caramel color..a nice mixture of semi-sweet/bittersweet chocolate and caramel followed by a nice tart hoppy taste. Smooth and great with the pizza (esp with my current cold!)
A good "mimic" of the Belgian Trappist style of beermaking.

Interesting. What kind of pizza?

Sometimes I think of this beer style as too rich and heavy for pizza. But I guess it depends what ingredients are involved. And perhaps the strong flavors were necessary to break through your cold!
 
Just about any beer is going to taste great next to Domino's pizza. I'm not even sure they use real cheese.

Ok, I can see the value of strong beer for that! :)

I haven't had Ommegang in years but used to enjoy it very much so will have to give it a try again.
