NWR: Plea for Advice on NYC Hotels

Thanks again. Monkish is kind of good for me on my own: fewer distractions, shorter interior lines of communication; Jane's looks practical.

Bed and Coffee could work for the family trip, though my SO would probably balk at a shared bath.
 
Bumping this thread. Headed up to NY next week for three or so days with family. East Village Bed and Coffee would be my first choice, of those suggested above, but they're booked.

Priceline looks too much like playing dice, the reviews here notwithstanding.

Airbnb throws up some interesting possibilities, with better pricing than most regular hotels.
