A different NYC hotel request

So where in the chelsea/flatiron/union square area should I stay if I'm attending La Paulee, which is at the Metropolitan Pavillion on 28th between 6th & 7th. I'll be headed down the island for dinner.

Not looking for the cheapest, nor the most expensive. Advice?

Ace Hotel could be fun if you feel like hanging with Hipsters.

They have a STUMPTOWN in the lobby as well as The Breslin Restaurant.

Ace

It is located at 20 West 29th Street - an easy walk to La Paulee.

You've got the address wrong, Mo. The Met Pavillion is on 18th between 6th and 7th. 125 West 18th, to be exact. I used to organize Winebow's portfolio tastings there.

Hotels near the Metropolitan Pavillion

In the neighborhood some hotels are:
- The Dream Hotel
- The Maritime
- The Standard

All three are modern, fairly "trendy" and very close to Chelsea Market. But I have no idea about pricing.

Maureen -- glad to hear you are planning to make it out! I'm super excited about the events...We should chat in more detail.

I looked into 5 places, recommendations from various NY locals:

Smith in Tribeca
Tribeca Grand
Gramercy Park
Nomad
Four Seasons

I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit which one we picked.

Mandarin Oriental & the St. Regis booked up?

Kirk-

Didn't even consider those two, though I suspect there is some availability for you if you want the penthouse suite. :)

Not near the Metropolitan Pavillion, but we are staying at the Grand Hyatt next to Grand Central Station. http://grandnewyork.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels-grandnewyork/index.jsp?extCorporateId= They have very good weekend rates what what is a nice hotel.

You can get to the tasting pretty easily by subway and it is very centrally located to get around the rest of the weekend. In fact, two years ago, the weather was pretty nice, so Ben, Nancy and I just walked all the way to the tasting from there. Not a bad walk.

Booked myself into the just opened Jade Hotel in the West Village - Kirk, go check it out for me please! :) Looks great, not very expensive, short walk to venue, etc.
