I've got a customer there now. Staying downtown near Tufts Med Center Sta.

Might be too busy meetin' and greetin' this week but please let me know if there's any good drinking or Disorderlies nearby.

Thank you.

Tufts Med Center Station is not too far from Chinatown, which is loaded with good BYO places like King Fung, China King, China Pearl and Dong Khanh.

small correction, Michael - not sure the new King Fung in the old King Fung Place is still BYO, has anyone verified that. And is the food any good? I know the new King Fung is in Brookline so that's not real close.

Close to Malden Center? Do you have a car?

Some places to look into for wine-friendly dining with interesting lists:

Journeyman in Somerville (owned by onetime and possibly lapsed disorderlies)
Bergamot
Troquet
Belly

and for a couple of "different" places that you might not encounter in NYC - Toro and Oleana might be interesting.

I'd definitely go to Formaggio Kitchen. The original one. I know there's one in NY now, and there's Murrays, and Stinky Brooklyn, etc. but Formaggio in Cambridge is worth a detour.

But more on a budget, I'd try Peach Farm. Order something out of the fishtank, the fresh shrimp if they have them although I hear the fish is good too, if not so much for me. We could probably do a thing, given a little notice. let me know if and when you'd be interested.

I've still done BYO at King Fung about 4 times since it was sold. The first course of the duck is pretty darned similar, though the second noodle course is rather different. I never get around to the soup, so I can't comment on that.

Personally, with China King nearby, I'd rather eat there to support the owners but also because the dining room is more comfortable, especially for a larger group...
