Serendipitous Dinner & Wine Success

I decided the mood was right for paella; thus, opted for Paella Marinera.

I dug deep into the cellar for a St Felician Argentine Cabernet '63, but, alas, I tried to dig too deep. It was not to be found.

So, I dug deep again and came up with Goyenechea Borgona Envasada en Bodega Mendoza Argentina Vino Fino Tinto '70. Not expecting anything digestible I had a much younger Argentine Malbec as a ready backup. What a surprise...

Goyenechea Borgona Envasada en Bodega Mendoza Argentina Vino Fino Tinto '70 -- Medium red with only slight browning at the edges, lovely if fleeting bouquet, dark fruits, still some freshness, nice roundness on palate, admirable core of fruit, glycerol notes, quite evolved and smooth but far from decrepit, subtle melange of flavors, altogether quite quaffable and enjoyable along with the paella.

Served with Paella Marinera...
