DJ Steve

Lurkers have written me to ask why the character of DJ Steve is not more prominent in my latest trip notes, and what kind of a name is DJ Steve, anyway?

DJ Steve turns out to be the self-effacing alter ego of the (himself understated) wine importer Jules Dressner. In truth, he was working hard while I played, so we mostly crossed paths away from the scene of the tastings.

And the name is a pun. Say it with a bit of a French accent. If you've had enough to drink, it's pretty funny.

Whoa, an explanation for the newbies and lurkers, and this atop the recent woeful degradation of the WT/WD Welcome Wagon. The end of world must surely be nigh.

Ooo! Ooo! I get it!

Jules was my guess. Has he started wearing satin track suits?

Well, he should.
My impression is that KMcK is itching to spend more time in the recording studio with Boz, so that can't be far behind.

If I've had enough to drink, the list of things that are pretty funny when spoken with a French accent gets fucking huge.

Jules has earned a lot of great nicknames over the years. DJ Steve is up there with the best.

Not sure I want to be around when he's in a track suit though.
