Dashe 2007 Zinfandel "l'Enfant Terrible" McFadden Farms - opened yesterday, singin' it like a '07 Cru Beaujolais but with blueberries; lots of mineral and earth, maybe a touch of nutmeg?, the mid-palate is a tad thin so there is also the taste of (alcoholic) heat; it'll go just fine with my afternoon's labors in the kitchen

Oooh, nice. I wish I had some of the older 'Terrible' Dashes left.

In my glass? At the moment my new favorite cocktail (but maybe that's the Bourbon talking), a Boulevardier. Basically a Negroni, but with Bourbon instead of Gin.
 
Have you no fear of ridicule, Jeff, by the more hard-boiled bored denizens for such posting such a chatty thread?

We're headed towards a 2007 Baudry Croix Boissee, which airs as I type.

Glass of icy water in Frost Valley.

Had the '07 L'Enfant at Slanted Door back in July of '08. It was beautiful then. Wouldn't have thought to hold it this long.
 
Thanks, Jeff. I still have one of them in the batcave and will have to open it soon. Had it last back in May '12 and it was lovely then, but the Mrs felt that it wasn't "typique" enough for Zin. We'll see.

Day 3 of '07 Chartogne-Taillet Orizeaux...and I have a feeling the thing will go another week :) So young an primary, huge amount of acid. Interesting SVD.

1999 Damien Laureau Savennières 'Les Genêts'. Softest bottle to date, not as phenolic, the botrytis note of 1999 still present.
 
2010 Pinon Les Trois Argiles. Is this what used to be the Tradition? IIRC, it is, but I'm almost as old as Jim now.

A bit more rustic than I expected (well, it is chenin, so that is on me), but very nice.

how was the wine when you opened it? md deliberately left some co2 in that version of the wine to plush out the mid-palate and take away the need to add sulfur at bottling (iirc).

i'd imagine that it might be just little bit out of breath after a day open...

I didn't know that. Would CO2 stay dissolved for 6 years?

Yes, it was a bit fuller when opened and, of course, a bit livelier. The only reason it got put away was because HWMBO announced that we're having a late Valentine's Day dinner and that required fizz.

i don't know, but the price (should be $20+/- retail) would suggest that. (it's belliviere's least expensive jasnieres bottling).
