Hi all,

Opened a bottle of 2010 Desvignes Voute St. Vincent last night. There was a fair amount of spritz in it, and I didn't care for it. Seemed like something funky was going on. I thought maybe it was slightly corked, or had some other flaw. It also seemed a little closed.

Drinking a little glass here on the second day, all that spritz is gone, and it's clearly not corked. It's not doing a ton for me, but it also seems somewhat closed.

It's available cheap locally and I'm trying decide whether to put some in the cellar. Any reactions? Maybe I'm just being carried away by the producer and vintage in terms of even thinking about getting more.

Oh yeah...the Breton VV 2010 is a bit bretty out here west - I think the Gang of Four has cross infected - I think it's across the board.

I don't think the Voute is for keeping. It's to help you keep your hands off the other bottles.

I thought the 2010 V St V was a beautiful thing when released locally (sometime last year), opened side by side with CdP upon taking delivery - smaller, precise, dark berry.
I'd consider the possibility you did not have a perfect bottle.

I also opened the 09 recently; no rush here either, and no concerns about balance with respect to ripeness, 3-5 years from now.

The Breton here in NC is delicious. We poured a bottle at the shop today.

Weird.
