2010 Cowan Cellars Pinot Noir, Bennett Valley, alc 13.4%....Wow...this has really settled down...the nose is very inviting with some earth showing...the palate is smoother with more integration but still has a zippy acidity...showing very nicely...the first bottle I had soon after it's arrival and I am glad I have waited on the others...reminiscent of a fine Gevrey Chambertin!!...

Ian,
Those are young vines, as Bennett Valley is more heavily Syrah than Pinot. I believe that vintage was 6th leaf.
FWIW, I had one recently and had the same reaction. Unfortunately, we are sold out of that one.
Best, Jim

The day before yesterday, with the man himself over mexican food, we had the mourvedre rose, orange sb and syrah.

the rose was a bit closed, needs some time, but with air revealed some lovely fruit and a bit of structure. really food friendly.

the sb was wild and alive. really demands your attention. great fruit contributing to a glug glug attitude that just makes you want another sip.

the syrah was light on its toes as it danced on your tongue. lovely red fruits playing with some of the darker bacon notes we love in syrah.

all 3 wines went beautifully with some great, fresh mexican in gulfport florida. both jim and his wines are welcome on my dinner table any time!
