Reminds me - we had a large tasting of Luneau-Papin just last Monday in Madrid, and since the 99 L d'Or has been mentioned, the notes by Luis Gutiérrez read thusly: "A disquieting nose. It's different [from younger vintages tasted before it], with more of a bony note, mushrooms, a whiff of petrol. Much more complex. Silky texture but ample too. Tasty and delicately bitter. The sharp edges start to become rounder. Surprising. It's beginning to show what these wines can give if you give them time to evolve in bottle."
(Too many corked bottles that day, by the way...)
