THE WINES

G. H. Mumm Cordon Rouge Brut -- Straw color, persistent bubbles, rather dry bouquet, various fruits, citrus flavors, pleasing roundness, mild acid, nothing not to like.

Domaine Massiac Viognier '09 -- Light golden yellow, floral scents, alluring aromas, medium body, some nuttiness, simplistic style in an appealing way, quite food friendly.

Chateau de Puligny-Montrachet '07 -- Pale yellow, generous bouquet, citrus fruits, grapefruit, good mouthfeel, a rather dry profile, medium acid offset by ample core of fruit.

Geantet-Pansiot Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru '09 -- Medium red, aromas a bit closed in, delicate berry/cherry fruits, some earth and spice, maybe not a barn burner but still quite worthy.

Les Tourelles de Longueville '04 -- Dark red, black currants, blackberries, some cigar box, concentrated profile, pleasing freshness, tasty in its youth, moderate tannins, excellent with the cheese.

Domaine des Bernardins Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise '11 -- Gold, prominent apricots and peaches, honey, nuts, plenty of power along with the charming personality, good balance.
