2011 von Schubert Maximin Grunhauser Absterg Riesling Kabinett

Jay Miller

Jay Miller
was delightful last night.

Arnold also loved but complained that at 9% it was too high in alcohol compared with the 7% Spatleses he prefers.

I'm really liking 2011s for current drinking.

Yes.

But save your money.

2012 that good?

2013. But 2014 is more to my taste.

I visited most places with John Gilman, so I don't post detailed notes, for obvious reasons. Did you read his report? I share his overall excitement, and while our mean may be the same, my take would have far greater variance. Looking forward to discussing in person when I am back next month, while we attempt to make room for these things in the cellar.

Rightly so. Give 'em hell. Arnold for President of the Verband Deutscher Prädikats- und Qualitätsweingüter!

The real problem with my iPad is that I get these his issue during the day at work and don't download it due to the limited 3G data plan. Then I get home and the email shows already read so I forget about it.

So no, I haven't read his report. I'll have to try and remember to fix that this weekend.
