Potel-Aviron Fleurie Vieilles Vignes Beaujolais '09 -- Fairly dark red, lovely floral notes, lots of fruit in soft bouquet, firmer on palate, excellent balance of acidity, good structure, raspberries and red fruits, busy profile, excellent with fried oysters and shrimp and caesar salad.

I just ordered some of the 2010 version of this bottling.

Did I err? Or is Potel-Aviron well thought of here?

I'm not sure that the answer to your second question necessarily follows from the first, if you liked the 09. So go for it!
 
I'm not up to the par HERE with respect to Beaujolais; thus, I am curious what the cognoscenti here think about this producer.

not artisanal. not bad. not expensive. negociant, i believe.

i've had delicious examples, that may have included the '09 fleurie. . .it's been a while--maybe a different vintage.
 
I had a bunch at La Paulee a little over 2 years ago. They were all good but didn't inspire me to run out and buy them in preference to the usual suspects.

Pogo's Liquors in Dallas shows several of the "usual suspects" for sale, Pete. Maybe they'd ship to you?

Mark, Thanks, but I don't trust any shipping this time of year.

Of course, another problem is that I don't know what might constitute a list of "usual suspects", but please don't bother with compiling such a list at this time as I am trying to stay out of wine buying mode right now (as best I can!?!).
