'08 Mordoree Tavel Rose

2008 Domaine de la Mordoree, "la reine des bois", Tavel Rose, alc 14.5%....I have a bad habit of keeping Rose's around but sometimes it is a good thing...the color is more red than pink.. the nose is floral with crushed raspberries....the palate is still bright and brisk with good acidity and verve....it has the requisite strawberry/raspberry flavors....the finish is smooth...the alcohol is not showing much...Really nice
I have had the Tempier Roses back to 2001 in the past couple of years and they hold up well... this seems to be doing well likewise

Nothing like at aged Tavel - aromatics can be OTT - not so sure I'd focus on Mordoree, but proof's in the pudding...

I put down a half case of Trinquevedel Eugene, their old vines cuvee, that has a ton of depth...

Interesting that this Tavel 08 should have aged so well. I wonder if high acidity in 2008 helped. Another southern rosé which often ages well is Ch“teau Simone at Palette.
