Tried the Jeeb Board but no luck.....

NYC Saturday 7/6
My wife and I will be in Manhattan for the weekend right after the 4th. Anyone want to Jeeb at dinner Saturday night? Open to any ideas but would love to try Grand Sichuan.
I have a big stash of wine to pick up at Chambers so we will be flush with all sorts of good stuff to drink.

So how was the dinner?

We loved the 2011 Egon Muller Sch. Kabinett and Abbatucci Rouge Frais at Marea. The former was rich but with plenty of underlying minerality and complexity. The former was a delightful light red (in both weight and color).

Well, no jeebus really but it was great weekend.

Drank some wonderful wines Saturday afternoon with some Disorderlies and then met a friend for dinner at the west village outlet of Grand Sichuan. Food was really good I thought. I can give more details if interested.

Just some random thoughts and data points for future searches....

Grand Sichuan in the west village was real good but for $15 corkage some nicer stemware would be appreciated. Metras moulin au vent works quite well with tea smoked duck if you are wondering what to do with your Metras stash.

Momofuku Ssam bar is delicious as ever but being shoe horned into the communal tab,e is getting a bit old. Still, I'd go back anytime. 2011 Huet cdb was way too young (obviously) but drinking well and worked really well with the food.

Ippudo is just freaking great. Nothing else to say here.

Murray's cheese bar makes a killer brunch on Sundays. I didn't drink here but the list has some cool stuff on it. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Kalustyans still amazes me.

It was really, really hot Sunday. I now know what the beginning of heat stroke feels like. Not fun.
