North Bethesda

Finding myself in North Bethesda next week and in need of a decent place to eat with a few colleagues.
Is there anything with good food and maybe even some interesting wine?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Georg

Never really found anything. I go ahead and head down to 2 Amys and let the grant pick up the tab for the cab.

I think there's a thread here from awhile back about the Thai menu at Bangkok Garden. I highly recommend the raw shrimp appetizer and the catfish curry.

I've had decent meals at Jaleo when doing the study section thingie, but that's not North Bethesda as I understand it.

If you must stay in bethesda and you want wine (pity - the county controls so eh) try black's (gulf coast) or grapeseed or yannick cam's place. But you are better off taking the metro in to palena or dino in cleveland park or going to two amys (great italian masquerading as a pizzeria) or heading down to the logan circle areA. Bethesda is a sea of mediocrity.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I still remember a very nice evening with some of you guys in DC just right after I found this board (and hope to repeat this some time)

While it would be good to see my colleagues I would also love to have a really nice meal, so if they all bail (still possible) I will just venture into town. In that case I will ask again.

Thanks!

or if you take the redline to cleveland park, there's the aforementioned dino and palena and also this place (which has a very interesting list):
