Attended a gathering tonight which celebrated the ribolla gialla wines from the Vare vineyard in Napa. Ryme, Arnot- Roberts, Matthiasson, Massican, and others presented their wines and spoke about them.
So did Grassi, a producer I had not heard of. The 2011 was okay but the 2012 Grassi, ribolla is benchmark stuff. I followed it over 5 hours and it never faded or veered off being a perfectly balanced and beautiful expression of the grape. About $32/bottle and as good as this country does with that grape.

As these things go, Grassi has a nice Cab as well. Have not tried the ribolla, will search it out. I really like Steve Matthiasson's version...
