I take back almost everything I said about 06 Beaujolais

After my recent negative post, now suddenly a series of gently meaty beauties. The latest, a Gerard Charvet MaV Reserve Amelie, quite delicious and complete, secondary, meaty and pine, with a nod to the Rhone (as I'm noticing with some of these 06s). At a picnic at Point Robinson on Maury Island (a two Miata evening picnic drive).

We had the Vissoux MaV les Trois Roches last night. While it was more advanced than I would have expected, it was also quite delicious.

06 Desvignes Cote du Py is lovely tonight. Gently meaty fits this one too, with a little Morgon spice.
Still a fair amount of tannin left.

MJ, Jason and I drank a tasty bottle of Teutonic Chehalem Mtn Riesling this weekend that was really good.
9% alcohol, crisp and fresh with a lime/grapefruit nose. One of the nicest OR Rieslings I've tried. Not as minerally as anything from Mosel but very drinkable.

Same goes for the Javernières

Foillard Cote du Py also pretty. Started a little leafy, but then floral and granite-spiced. Maybe lacking in structure for Cote du Py, but really lovely.
