A few slurps with Jay Miller on the road:
Jadot 1998 Beaune 1er "Clos des Ursules" - pretty nose but very lean in the mouth, perhaps you could serve this with meat but it definitely did not go with toast (which is usually an easy match for wine)
Calabretta 2000 Etna Rosso - a better bottle than the one a week or two ago; gentle and plummy, but it's losing its shape so drink up
Mugneret 2000 Nuits-St-Georges 1er "Les Chaignots" - here's a really nice one: pure and crisp and glyceral and a basket of berries; Bruce has 5 more of these and he's happy
Morot 1993 Beaune 1er "Bressandes" - tight at first, this opens with about an hour of air; attractive but a bit weary even so
Jamet 2001 Cote-Rotie - excellent bottle: medium-weight, blueberry-blackberry but not a trace of chocolate milkshake, one might accuse it of being a little glossy but it's a job well done, very enjoyable
Alain Lorieux 2011 Chinon Rose - crisp and clean, just what it says (and just what we want)
