Champagne Gatinois

The new NV release of Pierre-Cheval Gatinois Brut Grand Cru, Ay- pretty, pinkish hue, like someone dipped their pink highlighter in your glass. 90% Pinot Noir; 10% Chard- no oak. Huge!!! Smells like fresh, slightly burnt bread. Palate- Red unripe apple, but juicy, sour cherries, delightful. Steady, small bead. There is nothing else I would rather be drinking right now.

Yeah, this is great, but serious stuff. I presume your drinking the ros?

There is something so refined about Gatinois, it's almost statuesque (as a friend once nicely put it.) It's a champagne that's as interesting to ponder as it is delightful to drink.

VA, NY, DC, SC, WV- other than that I can't tell you. I do know that I saw a vintage Gatinois on a wine list in Portland. I know it is imported by Polaner Selections in New York, and Roanoke Valley Wine Company in VA.
