Baudry 2012 Chinon Rose

I just recently opened our last bottle of the '11, and it was even more appealing than earlier. Mega-yum.

My favorite rose every year.

Do you drink a lot of rose every year?

Delicious wine genre surely, but I sometimes go a year or more without any. (Not that that practice should be standard or anything)

Bit of a left turn, but the Klein rose brut cremant is a very good fizzy exemplar, for several more dollars.

Ian, have you had Pinon's Brut Rosé? Also a bit more, but usually an outstanding pink fizz.

I found the '11 Baudry to be close enough to perfect that I eagerly bought some '12. Which I found to be fairly different. Really good, but not so much like what I remembered.

That is sad! So many good rosés out there.
I think that way, too, but I recently had a couple of awful ones which reminded me how the rest of the universe is, rosé-wise.

But from a privileged vantage, I drink largeish quantities of great rosé. Including a case of Baudry most years.

Haven't but will put out an apb; though, Pinon is a rara avis in these parts. Have you had Tissot's pink? I like their regular cremant a lot, but the rose never crops up at the stores I haunt.

Is there good pink Cheverny, I wonder? We've been quaffing red Villemade recently, which has engendered a surfeit of rather tender feeling towards the region in our humble abode.

By the way, did you ever work with Barabarsi when he was at ND? I'm reading Linked now, plus the paper he wrote with Reka.

There is a lot of good stuff of all kinds in this world, but time is limited and we can't experience it all.

White, orange, pink, red; not necessarily in that order, but not so hard to swallow some of each. (CO2 and RS or not.) In your new southern climes, Rahsaan, I hope you get some more pink in rotation.

I drink a lot of rosé, especially in the summer as I find that it pairs well with the lighter fare I tend to eat at that time. I tend to like Loire rosés best of all, but there are great rosés from all over.

Yes, will see how the southern climes affect my drinking. At a minimum they've already boosted my appreciation of air conditioning. And I see how the roses go well with summer food, but so many of my usual whites also perform well.

Spoiled for choice!

François Cazin makes one of my favourites. Gamay and Pinot Noir in roughly equal proportions, typical release is about 2 years after vintage. Delicious and more-ish, really good with food. I like them with about 5-7 years of age, e.g. the 2009 is really starting to come into its own now.

Could I please petition the Политбюро to censor the phrase "really good with food" whenever it comes up. If I'm not wrong that used to happen with the name Robert Parker.
