Hem. I call that an acronym, but I will not fight.

The interwebz sez you are both right: http://data.grammarbook.com/blog/abbreviations/abbreviations-acronyms-and-initialisms-revisited/.

Kirk,
If you look at your reference, I think you'll see that IIRC doesn't fit its definition of acronym, just as it doesn't fit mine.

That site suggests a new category of initialisms for things like IIRC. I apologize for my attempt at humor and mediation.

Okay, I'll be the one to say it. I did not like the 2012 Baudry rosé. I went through a few bottles and it enters a bit heavy and then just dies off in the mouth. Flat. No finish. There, I said it.
Thank you.
First vintage of this wine where I've been unable to finish a bottle even with company.

I would have had the same problem, but my mother-in-law happened to be the company.

My apology for not responding in more humorous vein, Kirk. I fear that, without resorting to Venn diagrams in a PowerPoint presentation, I will be unable to make my point clear. *sigh* What's a poor linguistic pedant to do?

Honestly, Kirk, you've been posting here long enough to know better.

how often is it that you find me down at the chemistry department, knocking the sailors' cocks out of your mouth?

uh, KSCOYM?

is a wine bored. if it needs a .ppt, you'd be better off with another glass.

I'm not sure you can assume that Mark entertains his guests the same way you do, geehrter fb. Otoh, foolish consistency, etc. I wonder how Shakespeare's plays would have turned out if they'd had to satisfy to the WD proofreaders.
