Rahsaan, the Cadinières vineyard is now a very nice swimming pool build by a rich englishman in 2010...

The predictable future for southern vineyards in France!

Yes, it's most likely the Côtes du Rhône Vaison La Romaine if you purchased at Cave Taureau.

Ok! That explains why it didn't resemble my memories of delightful experiences with the Cadinières, which is one of the few southern Rhone wines I have bought and enjoyed in recent (although apparently not so recent) memory.

Eric, Really interesting label on your Eric Texier Brezeme Cotes Du Rhone 2011...

Is there a story of how it came to be?

I wish more of your wines would be available here.

Not the Brézème for sure. This is the plain Cotes du Rhone . Designed by my wife's aunt who is a well known modern tapisserie artist from the historic tapestry town of Aubusson.

By the way the blend is grenache 80% min, clairette, marsanne up to 20%, all from Saint Julien en Saint Alban so NORTHERN Rhone! the northernmost grenache vineyards in France.

Eric, Sounds right on, especially to someone who likes Grenache blends.

I guess that explains why I loved it.

Lou (or anyone), Any advice/opinions on the Texier CNdP VV '10?

It pleases me a lot. But it also pleases me more than many famous Chateauneufs. It is lighter on its feet, higher in acid, lower in alcohol, and so on than what is currently fashionable in the region. I can't drink most current Chateauneuf, and I like Eric's 2010 a lot.

This works for me, it might or might not for you.

(I assume you mean the red, but the above goes double for the white.)

Joe, Thanks! You and I are fully in sync with this. I'm glad I was able to land some for the cellar.

And, yes, I tried to track down some of the white but, alas, no luck.
