2011 on the Sonoma CoastInteresting article by Jon Bonne on pinot noir from the cool 2011 vintage in coastal Sonoma. I haven't had a single one of the wines, but I wonder if anyone has, and if they have a comment.

Unscientifically speaking, 2011 Ceritas Costalina is really damn good.
FWIW, I worked in the same facility as John Raytek for one year and spent more than a few moments picking his brain. His time at Copain served him well but I got the impression that he wanted to try stuff. I remember a submerged cap fermentation of Syrah that was compelling and a carbonic maceration of Syrah that was not. The guy has game.originally posted by Marc D:
I met John the winemaker at Ceritas in May and he said a lot of the same things in the Jon Bonne article. Some of his coolest vineyards were a struggle and he didn't bottle any Pinot Noir as single vineyard cuvées. All the grapes went into the Costalina as a blend.
I am a fan of that bottle too.
Also like the 2010 Pinots from the Dundee Hill area of Oregon, and I've heard that was a cool wet year also.
