Your favorite dry pinot gris?

Looking for some dry pinot gris recommendations, preferably hippy wine, unfiltered and without a lot of SO2.

While fully aware that there are oceans of bad Gris from Oregon, Teutonic Wines has produced some nice bottlings from the Maresh Vineyard in the Dundee Hills. Not always completely dry, though I believe they call out the sweeter ones. All i've tried have had very good acidity. No idea if they are sufficiently hip. Have not noticed any SO2. I think AF has positively reviewed one of their rieslings, so hopefully they are not on the shit list.
 
A while ago, Levi suggested Laible's PG to me when I expressed my lack of excitement for the grape. Lyle Fass brings in Laible now.

I was thinking of a German example and I do like that one well enough (perhaps without as much exposure as fatboy) although FWIW am not sure it fits the hippy criterion. In fact, it seemed a little 'polished' to me and for young drinking some of the 'lower' Kochs went down a little smoother, although am not sure of availability in the US. And I'm sure fatboy could explain in more knowing detail.
 
I vote for outing the lurker!

Also, I have had the Teutonic PG that Jim mentioned, and I'll add my own endorsement. The vintage I tasted had ripping acidity though, which might be too much for some folks, even those that claim to like acidity.

Wind Gap sources from Windsor Oaks. Natural Process Alliance also does one from that vineyard.

If you want to try a crazy wine try 2006 Scholium Project San Floriano Rocky Hill Vineyard Normale and Reserva.

totally natural farming and totally natural winemaking. scary attention to detail. is that hippy? i guess it all depends on one's definition. certainly, if you taste the wines in the context of his neighbors, it is clear that holger is doing something very different -- but that is really just down to the work he does in the vineyards, and the hippy vinifications.

the soil is loess stuck on top of a volcano, rather than volcanic. and it is very limey loess, at that. hence the snap and polish in the finish.

the wines are dry.

oh. and the vines. which are mainly massale, from across the border.

h.k. decided that there was little to be done with the crappy clones that dominate the baden vineyards (pinot braun, anyone?), and as i mentioned, his attention to detail is scary.

The Jolie-Laide Pinot gris is a nice thing to drink. Same fruit as Wind Gap's, but sans skin contact. Some RS and it sits around 12% abv.

Clearly you're looking for the Eyrie Original Vines pinot gris. Fermented dry, vines planted in the 60s, not even cold stabilized, sans soufre. Oh, and it definitely needs to be decanted to come together.
