(2007) L'Oustal Blanc Naick 7
Aromatherapy in the glass. Big herbs dusted in cocoa and then stirred into macerated tree fruit. It’s soft but not flabby with a mild minty finish. The 15% abv mainly shows by turning the camphor aromas more pungent. Labeled as a NV table wine because of the non-conforming blend of 60% (tank raised) Cinsault from Saint-Chinian and the rest a split of (old barrel raised) Carignan, Syrah, and Grenache from La Liviniere. It paired quite nicely with a simple dinner of roast chicken and sauteed yellow squash and then a screening of Miyazaki’s latest film.
